For some reason, things have been getting worse for the past three months. So, I went to my GP and she referred me to a new ENT doctor for further consultations. My GP also advised me to double the dosage of my medicine, Betahistine to help manage my symptoms.

In addition, she reminded me that I might have some more side effects due to the double dosage and I might have to see her again for another medication to help relieve the side effects.

My GP was right. A double dosage almost equals double side effects. I have been having some sort of stomach ache and discomfort. But, instead of going back to my GP for another medication, I have decided to use some natural remedies to help relieve my stomachache.

I have always known that tamarind has a long history of health benefits and medical uses, which involve easing stomach discomfort and aiding digestion. I am fortunate to live near a Chinese grocery store where I can find some fresh tamarind, organic herbs, and exotic spices.

What you need to do:

Please note that 5 pieces of fresh tamarind with 1 teaspoon of organic coconut palm sugar are enough for 1 mug. I usually double the measurements to have 2 mugs of hot tamarind drinks.

  1. Pour 1 mug of cold tap water into the pan.
  2. Add the pieces of tamarinds to the pan as soon as the water starts to boil.
  3. Squeeze the tamarinds to get more juice out of them using the wooden spatula.
  4. Add the organic coconut palm sugar to the pan and stir thoroughly.
  5. Pour it into the mug and enjoy while it’s hot.

This hot tamarind drink is a delicious beverage to enjoy especially in the cold, winter months. Alternatively, you can also cool it down to room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator, and enjoy it cold.

Obviously, you will need a few mugs of this hot tamarind drink to help relieve the stomachache. Nevertheless, I, myself prefer to use these natural remedy drinks as medicines.
