How to make tasty salt-free sweet potato chips

I have to admit that my craving for salty snacks is one of the biggest challenges in eliminating salt from my salt-free diet. I am – as I have always been – the kind of person who prefers salty to sugary snacks.

One day, I started googling for some tasty and yet, salt-free snack alternatives that are quick and easy to make. I have tried to make both potato and sweet potato chips using the oven but the result wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.

A few months ago, I bought a Mastrad’s Chips Maker and Slicer Set and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make so many kinds of chips. One of my successful homemade chips was some tasty salt-free sweet potato chips with some Italian seasoning.

I am very glad to mention that this Italian seasoning is also salt-free and contains parsley, oregano, chive, and basil, which is very easy to refill with my very own herbs. So, let’s go ahead and start with this tasty salt-free sweet potato chips recipe.

  • Cook for about 7 minutes (3,5 minutes for 1 tray) in the microwave.

  • Allow the trays to cool down for about 30 seconds before removing them from the microwave.
  • Place the sweet potato chips in a bowl or else.
  • Enjoy the tasty salt-free sweet potato chips.

Please note that if you, like I do, have a combined microwave/grill, use only the microwave function to cook the sweet potato chips.

I love experimenting with this Mastrad’s Chips Maker and Slicer Set using slices of potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, pears, and mangos. I have also noticed that seasoning the sweet potato slices after the cooking is complete gives the best result.
